Locked Away

Once upon a time, there was a girl named Rapunzel who craved adventure. As a child, her grandmother told her she was diagnosed with a deadly disease that caused her to remain indoors for the rest of her life. The only person she ever talked to was her grandmother. Rapunzel would explore the mansion whenever her grandmother would run errands. She would often find her way to the attic, where she watched a neighborhood boy swim with his dog.

One day he saw her peering through the window and waved. Out of embarrassment, she ducked and instantly became flushed. She peaked her eyes over the ledge of the window and saw the handsome neighborhood boy making his way toward her. He shouted up at the window in hopes of getting a response. Rapunzel revealed herself through the window and shouted back. They talked for a couple hours. As soon as the grandmother began to pull in, Rapunzel told the boy to come back tomorrow at the same time. He nodded and trotted away. They continued t talk through her attic window for a couple of months, and she informed him of her condition. He couldn't believe that a disease like that even existed, and he encouraged her to find out what disease she exactly has. Rapunzel's suspicions began to grow.

Rapunzel did some digging and she could not find any medical records in her grandmother's belongings or any proof that this disease existed. The next day the boy arrived on time, and he urged her to come down and meet him. Rapunzel reluctantly agreed to meet him at the window downstairs. She sprinted down the stairs as butterflies filled her stomach. When they locked eyes, she knew she found the love that she read about in all the books in her library. Face to face with the love of her life, she agreed to try and take a step outside after he informed her that he found no diseases that can make the outdoors dangerous for an individual after his extensive research.

She took her lover's hand and stepped outside the door, and inhaled the fresh air. She felt alive for the first time in forever. As they hear her grandmother pulling they make a run for the hills and lived happily ever after.
